CEMEX Colombia receives the International Model Company recognition of 2017
- In Mexico, the company was recognized for its outstanding commitment to social responsibility; it is the only Colombian company in the construction sector that was recognized at the event.

(Corporación Fenalco Solidario Colombia), (The Mexican Center for Philanthropy A.C. CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility in Mexico, recognized CEMEX Colombia as "Exemplary Company of 2017" by taking into account the public and voluntary commitment of the company to maintain a social responsible management in Colombia.
The recognition was presented in the "10th Latin American Meeting of Socially Responsible Companies", held in Mexico City, where CEMEX Colombia was the only company in the construction sector to be awarded. "We are very proud and honored to receive this award. It is undoubtedly an impetus to continue empowering thousands of families and individuals who are looking for opportunities year after year. Our programs open the door to thousands of Colombians to build their first home, live in communities with better infrastructure, start their own businesses and also offer their children a quality of life, "said Mariana Jaramillo, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of CEMEX Colombia.
Among the areas evaluated to choose CEMEX Colombia as a winner, were the company's commitment to increase the standards of corporate social responsibility in the areas of Quality of Life in the Company, Ethics and Corporate Governance, Community Engagement, and Care and Preservation of the Environment.

CEMEX Colombia has brought forward for more than 20 years initiatives that have promoted the quality of life of Colombians and also contribute to the construction of a country that is align with the United Nations-led Sustainable Development objectives, through programs such as Bloqueras Solidarias, which has benefited more than 1,130 families through the improvement and construction of new homes.
